A WOMAN died at Asda in Bromsgrove on Monday afternoon (February 17).
West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the medical emergency at the town’s supermarket at 2.24pm and two ambulances and the WMAS Critical Care Car were sent to the scene. Police also attended.
The Standard was contacted by a number of people who were concerned about police vehicles and ambulances outside the store and the supermarket was closed while the incident was dealt with.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “On arrival crews found a woman in a critical condition and immediately began administering advanced life support.”
She added, despite the best efforts of paramedics, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police confirmed it was a medical episode and was not being treated as suspicious.
Asda confirmed the store did close but said it had since reopened. A spokesperson added no further comment would be made.
