Funding for money advisers supporting vulnerable residents greenlit by council

FUNDING has been allocated to finance staff who will help provide financial advice for vulnerable residents in Bromsgrove.

Bromsgrove District councillors greenlit a funding package of £38,000, at Wednesday’s full meeting (October 9), to hire a voluntary sector money adviser to help signpost people to the right support they may need.

From reserved funds of £150,000 allocated to help cost-of-living schemes, £62,000 will be given to Citizen’s Advice Bromsgrove to fund an outreach development worker until March 2026.

This is on top of the remaining £50,000 which has funded support in Bromsgrove District Council’s Financial Inclusion Team.

Council Leader Karen May said: “We are really pleased that we can offer this support which enables us to safeguard our communities.

“This funding means we can provide the right help at the right time and signpost our residents to the support and advice which they are in need of.”
