Woman seriously injured and a second hurt after fall from Northfield Shopping Centre car park

TWO women have been taken to hospital after an incident at Northfield Shopping Centre yesterday afternoon.

One woman fell from the multi-storey car park and is reported to have landed on an elderly woman around midday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor, a critical care paramedic and a BASICS emergency doctor to the scene on Bristol Road South.

A West Midlands Ambulnance spokesperson said one of the women received advanced trauma care at the scene for life threatening injuries.

The second, who had sustained serious non life threatening injuries, was also treated.

Both were taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.




Police also attended the incident.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A woman has been taken to hospital with critical injuries after falling from the first floor of Northfield shopping centre car park around midday yesterday.


“Another member of the public also received minor injuries as a result of the fall.”
