ALVECHURCH angler Pete Lemon tasted success as he teamed up with Jay Davis to win the pairs tournament and leave others feeling sour.

With a full house on the two pools at Alvechurch Fisheries, the Pairs Open saw some excellent weights being recorded.

Steve Bellion came on top on the Canal Lake with a weight of 75lbs 7oz, while Paul Reynolds got 79lbs 13oz to come out on top on the Horseshoe Lake.

But it was Lemon and Davies who took the honours as they finished second on both lakes for a four point haul.

Davis (peg 13) fished long pole and banded pellet up to the island to net carp up to 3lbs and a mixed bag of silvers for 66lbs 6oz.

Lemon (peg 26) also aided the victory with an impressive catch of 72lbs 6oz on the Horseshoe Lake.

This came after he finished  long pole rotating pellet and corn out in front and late down the margin boosting his weight with a 7lb carp landed on the whistle with stockies.

Meanwhile, Tony Taylor and Adam Rumble edged Bellion and Danny Tresigne into second place.
