THERE seems to be no stopping Rob Gandley who reeled off his fourth open win at Alvechurch Fisheries by recording one of his best weights to date.

Gandley (peg 24) finished with 124lbs 6oz on the Horseshoe Lake after catching carp up to 9lb boosted by another fantastic net of silver fish of 85lbs including stockies, barbel, ide and chub.

Warren Beach (peg 11) was once again his nearest challenger as he fished long pole up to the island with banded pellet rotating a number of swims to weigh a mixed bag of carp and stockies for 84lbs 15oz.

Assistant manager Phil Evans (peg 28) was not far behind in third place, with 80lbs 1oz, after finishing pellet feeder up to the rushes before switching to pole with worm and caster out in front.

Phil Watts (peg 26) clinched fourth slot ahead of newcomer Paul Jones peg 36 who edged Ron Taylor (peg 34) by less than 1lb for a top five finish.

But it was Gandley who came out on top and his form continued on Saturday as he won the open at the Colmic Canal Lake. Off peg one, he fished long pole and pellet up to the rushes and rotating a number of swims at 6 mts to weigh in a few carp and a net of small silvers for 51lbs 8oz.

Beach (peg 12) had to settle for second with 39lbs 2oz, while Trevor Hodges and Steve Bellion also put in strong performances as they came third and fourth respectively.
