February a 'massive' month for Saltmen says boss

DROITWICH Spa’s fixtures for February will see them have a whole month on the road and for joint-manager Wayne Oliver, he says it could be a turning point in their season.

Spa have recently had a batch of home games over the Christmas period and now face a lengthy spell away from King George’s after the recent fixtures announced for February show they’ll be on their travels for four consecutive games.

The Saltmen will travel to Knowle and Hampton in league action on the first and third weekend of the month, while making trips to Barnt Green Spartak and Sutton United in the quarter-finals of the Presidents Cup and Les James Challenge Cup respectively.

Wayne said: “To be on the road for that length of time is something I’ve talked about before.

“We are in a league where we have to play everyone twice and after a period of home games, we better have some petrol in our cars ready for our travels.

“Our away form last season was good so I am hoping that form sticks with us.

“February is going to be a massive month for us, obviously our league games take priority as we want to go up but we don’t want a situation where we are out of all the cups.

“It’s going to be a defining point in our season.”
