BSA Cup thriller sees South Redditch beat Shakespeare Studley 6-4

TEN GOALS were scored by nine players as South Redditch won a BSA Cup first round thriller 6-4 against Shakespeare Studley.

Only Karl Surman with a brace scored more than one and his double for South Redditch was added to by goals from Ryan Waters, Aj Powell, Jordan Read and Dek Gilsennan.

Kyle Tapsell, Kendall, Shane Kelleher and Ashleigh Wilson were on the mark for Shakespeare.

Golden Cross easily progressed into the second round with a 9-0 victory over VKL United as Mark Wilkes netted five times and Mark Styles, Ben White, Rhys Whitehouse and Connor Poole were also on target.




The BRT Terry Cup first round programme has been concluded, with 42 goals being scored in the four ties played on Sunday.

CBH Fasteners beat Redditch Town 4-1 as both Sean Parish and Mark Harrison bagged doubles, with James Grady on the mark for Town.


New Woodland Cottage beat Beoley Village 8-1, although the score was just 2-1 with half an hour left.

A disallowed goal and two serious injuries to Beoley players changed the game.

Adam Crombie (3), Stuart Byng (2), Ryan Butler, Adam Davies and Dimitri Wilkinson scored for Woodland, with Sean Meek on target for Beoley.

James Powell scored twice for Lodge Park and Simon Ledgister, Terry Nolan, Wayne Keet and Peter Murphy were also on the scoresheet as they defeated SO Goose Greenlands 6-3. Joe Hopkins, Tom Cartwright and Matt Hale netted for Goose.

Austin Ex-Apprentices thrashed SCC Redolence 19-0 – the biggest cup victory so far this season – as the prolific Andy Nicol scored another eight goals and Craig Spink struck four times.

Chris Tranter (2), Jamie Partridge, Jack Walton, Michael McGrath, Earl Jordan and Richard Deeming were also on the mark for Austin.

In the Premier Division, Studley Swan beat Redditch Cross 2-0 thanks to an Aaron Brough brace.
