BROMSGROVE under-13 Girls got their season off to a flier as they narrowly secured victory in a high-scoring fixture against Old Elizabethans.
Elizabethans won the toss elected to field first but the Bromsgrove girls rotated the strike well and punished the bad balls which enabled them to post a score of 303 in the pairs format game.
In response, all of the Bromsgrove girls bowled with good discipline and control as they restricted Elizabethans to 288 runs.
Bromsgrove’s spokesperson Lisa Smiley said: “It was really encouraging to see such a high level of cricket on display. This was a fantastic first victory for the girls, joining the clubs under-11 girls in being undefeated this season.
