Bromsgrove Editorial 23rd Jun, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

FOLLOWING the confirmation of the Midland League constitution at last night’s AGM, Bromsgrove Sporting’s 2016/17 campaign will feature 38 league games.

With Coventry United (promoted to Premier Division) and Pilkington XXX (resigned) leaving from Division One, Chelmsley Town (promoted from Division Two) and Uttoxter Town (moved from Staffordshire County Premier Division) fill in the gaps.

Southam United and Pelsall Villa, who finished in the relegation zone last season, have been given a reprieve.

Alvis Sporting Club, who finished as champions of Division Two and were expected to be placed in the same league as Sporting, have been relegated due to ground grading issues.

AlvisĀ have lodged an appeal against the FA’s decision and Midland League officials will be informed of the outcome in due course.

With the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup starting on Saturday, August 6, Sporting will kickstart their push for promotion on Saturday, August 13.

Sporting will find out who they play in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on Friday, July 8.

The full and confirmed 2016/17 Division One constitution is as follows:

Atherstone Town, Bolehall Swifts, Bromsgrove Sporting, Cadbury Athletic, Chelmsley Town, Coventry Copsewood, Heath Hayes, Heather St Johns, Hinckley AFC, Leicester Road, Lichfield City, Littleton, Nuneaton Griff, Pelsall Villa, Pershore Town, Racing Club Warwick, Southam United, Stafford Town, Studley, Uttoxeter Town.
