THE GROVE are still awaiting for their first points of the season after losing 5-2 to Oak Tree Sporting in the Bromsgrove and District League Premier Division.

A double from Lee Jagger and further goals from Rory Milbourne, Richard Lynch and Shane Tickell secured the win for Sporting.

In Division One, Bromsgrove United and local neighbours Spa Athletic were involved in an eight-goal thriller with United edging their rivals 5-3.

Braces from Jordan Allmark and Michael Hegarty along with a strike from Bradley Bullimore ensured United walked away with the three points.




Bartley Green Sunday sit one point off league leaders Northfield Athletic after romping to a 4-0 victory over Wychbold RBL thanks to two goals apiece for Dominic Strevens and Dan Lawrence.

Meanwhile, GLA enjoyed a 3-0 victory over basement club AFC Northfield courtesy of a Mark Burrell double and single from Chris Eacock.


In Division Two, Rubery Junior leapfrogged their opponents Bromsgrove Brentnal up to ninth after enjoying a 3-0 victory thanks to two goals from Nathan Derricks and effort from Ashley Kahn.

The other game in the division saw Hewll secure a narrow 2-1 victory over Sporting Club Redditch.

Joseph Shaw netted Redditch’s only goal of the game.

Division Three saw only one game go ahead, with second bottom Stoke Prior facing basement club Laburnum.

With Prior leading 5-0, the game was abandoned after 65 minutes due to a serious player injury.

Rednal Social Club booked their place in the second round of the WA Harris Cup after romping to a 5-1 victory over LPR.

Ben Markall netted twice for Rednal, with Kyle Morrison, Josh Sweeney and Mitchell Parker completing their scoring.

Conway Albion also ran out 5-1 winners in their game away at Stoke Sporting Reserves to progress into the next round.

VBG Fairfield are the first team in the LMS Shield Final after they claimed a 2-0 victory over Northfield Athletic.

Shaun May and Scott Smith netted the winning goals.

Rubery FC will meet Callowbrook Swifts Green in the final of the Rose Bowl after running out convincing 10-2 winners at Chaddesley Corbett Reserves.

Paddy Behan was the star of the show after helping himself to five goals with Ryan Smith, Rhys Forbes, Lewis McPike, Mitchell Mansfield and Brogan Halpin rounded off a comfortable win.

Meadows Park are through to the final of the Bridgwater Cup after securing a 9-1 victory away at Callowbrook Green.

Chaddesley Corbett booked their place in the semi-finals of the Division One Cup following a 5-0 victory at Sporting Rednal.

In the Kidderminster Hospital Junior Cup, Stourport Swifts progressed into the next round with a 4-1 victory over Rubery Athletic.

Andrew Court bagged Athletic’s only goal of the game.

Alcester Town also tasted defeat as they slumped to a 5-0 victory down at Woodside United.

Meanwhile, Stoke Sporting edged out Areley Kings 1-0 thanks to a solitary goal from Jon Snell.

In the Kidderminster Hospital Minor Cup Minor Cup, Awkies Allstars secured a 8-2 victory over Mostyn C4L thanks to five goals from star-man Jason Gibbons and singles from Christopher Fox, Kurtis Hoban and Thomas Mooney.

Elsewhere, Hizza United also claimed success after running out 3-1 winners at Netherton courtesy of an Ashley Verity brace and Scott Young single.
