BARTLEY Green Illey Sunday clinched the Bromsgrove & District League Division One title in dramatic fashion as they scored two goals in the dying moments of the game to snatch the championship from Northfield Athletic.

Athletic had taken the lead after 85 seconds through Jason Cowley before Scott Taylor doubled the lead midway through the first half.

Cowley made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute and looked to have all but secured the title for Athletic.

However, after the break, Bartley Green – who only needed a draw to win the title – got themselves right back in the game when Dominic Strevens netted on the hour mark.

Ryan Gardiner headed home from close range to make it 3-2 before a contentious penalty was awarded to Athletic.

Cowley stepped up to take the penalty but Aaron Collins saved well to keep the score at 3-2.

The drama was not over as in the 88th minute skipper Colin Tandy levelled for Bartley Green before impact substitute Andy Nicol bagged a fourth deep into injury time to guarantee the title.

The other game in Division One saw Chaddesley Corbett secure a 3-0 victory at AFC Northfield who, although not confirmed, are likely to be relegated to Division Two.

In the Premier Division, VBG Fairfield played their last ever game as a Sunday side with a 6-1 victory over Oak Tree Sporting.

In Division Two, Meadow Park ended the season 15 points clear at the top after running out 4-2 winners at Hewell.

Bridgfield followed up from their 9-5 victory last weekend with a 4-2 victory over Rubery Juniors.

Sam Devaney and Dean Hodges got on the scoresheet for Juniors.

Elsewhere, Sporting Club Redditch and Hizza United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Jordan Adams and Dan Sill netted for Redditch.

Finally, in Division Three, Chaddesley Corbett Reserves enjoyed a 3-1 victory over AFC Millfields thanks to goals from Andrew Millward, Forde MacKenzie and Adam Westcott.

Ash Roland scored for Millfieds.
