BARNT Green Ladies A team moved a step closer to securing promotion after clinching a comfortable 4-2 win over Old Hill.
With only one match being played at the club, the ladies side were thrust into the spotlight, but they responded well under pressure as they swept aside the opposition.
First pair of Jane Hampson and Pauline Harman continued their winning ways, losing only four games in both matches, while the ever-dependable pairing of club stalwart Victoria Clipsham and teenager Beth Harris eased to victory.
Although the third pair of Faye Edwards and Caroline Harris came up short in their two closely-fought matches, the result means Green need just seven points from their final two matches against struggling Evesham and Boughton to guarantee promotion to Herefordshire & Worcestershire League Division Two.
Also in action next week are the Mixed B team who will have the chance to seal another promotion, and add another trophy to the cabinet away to struggling Bewdley D on Monday evening.
