Wythall Park revamp proves to be a hit with all

YOUNGSTERS from across the district have been enjoying a revamped play area which now boasts a host of new equipment.

Among the improvements carried out at Wythall Community Park have been a revamped play area with brand new sand play, crawling tunnels, climbing mounds, toddler basket swing and a Viking boat climbing unit.

For the older children, there are now more fitness and balancing apparatus at the ‘risky’ play area which – having already had a zip wire, space net, embankment slide and a rotating beam – challenges young people and tests their agility.

The improvements to the play area, along with the new-look pathways, were paid for by Section 106 funding, which was contributed by developers building homes in the district.

Bromsgrove District Council’s head of leisure services John Godwin said: “The area now lives up to its name of a community park with something for everyone to enjoy – whether it’s a family with young children, young people hanging with friends or dog walkers enjoying the improved pathways.

“We hope people from across the district come to Wythall to enjoy the new facilities, especially as the weather is getting warmer.”

The improvements were completed on March 19.
