A WOMAN had a lucky escape when the car she was in went down an embankment on the M5 motorway at 8.30am this morning (Tuesday).
The incident happened on the southbound carriageway of the M5 between Junction 4a for Bromsgrove and Junction 5 for Droitwich.
The woman in her early 20s suffered only minor injuries and, after being initially assessed in her car by ambulance crews to ensure she had not sustained a spinal injury, she was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed a paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew attended.
Fire crews from Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch were sent to the scene and made the car safe.
