BROMSGROVE residents living with disabilities will now be able to learn to sale after the district council launched a specially adapted boat at Aztec Outdoor Education Centre in Upton Warren.

And now the dinghy is in place, sailing sessions for disabled people will take place at the centre on Friday evenings throughout the summer, thanks to a partnership between the council, the centre and Upton Warren Sailing Club.

Funding from Sport England was secured by the council’s sports development team.

Coun Peter Whittaker, portfolio holder for leisure said lots of people took part in an initial session held last year so officers started examining how more opportunities could be provided.

He said he was delighted with the new boat.
