BROMSGROVE’S Spadesbourne Suite, Burcot Lane, will be used for the planning committee meeting on Monday (June 30) when the controversial and high-profile application for Whitford Road is considered.
The decision has been taken because there is expected to be a high turn-out and the venue is bigger than the council chamber and can accommodate more people.
The proposal is for 490 homes, a small shop, two new accesses into Whitford Road and other matters was deferred in April for further consultations over traffic and highways issues.
The council is, however, asking people intending to come and listen to the debate to bear in mind some of the available seating is in the balcony and only accessible via a stairway.
The meeting starts at 6pm with the Whitford Road application being considered first.
Other items scheduled for Monday – numbers six, seven and eight – will not be considered until 7.30pm or until after the debate and vote on Whitford Road has taken place.
