The M5 lanes closed after lorry crash between Droitwich and Bromsgrove have now re-opened

TWO lanes on the northbound M5 between Junction 5 for Droitwich and 4a for Bromsgrove which were shut after a crash involving two lorries have now reopened.

There is still congestion on the motorway and surrounding roads following the knock-on effect of the incident.

The crash which happened just after 11am, led to an oil spillage and motorists are being urged to find an alternative route.

Highways England is working with partners and is doing all it can to re-open the road as quickly as possible and to minimise disruption.

Colin Lowther, Duty Operations Manager at Highways England said the organisation worked incredibly hard to try to re-open the northbound carriageway as soon as was safe to do so.
