OFFICERS investigating three car-key burglaries which took place in North Worcestershire in as many days are linking the raids.

In the first, a grey Audi A3 was stolen from the driveway of a property in Swansbrook Gardens, Walkers Heath, at some point between 11pm on Saturday (July 26) and 6am on Sunday (July 27). It happened after the thieves got into the house through an unlocked door and stole the car keys.

Then, from 11pm on Sunday (July 27) to 8am on Monday (July 28), a property in Berrymound View, Hollywood, was targeted.

The burglars took a set of car keys from the house before stealing a black Mercedes E350 Sport from the driveway. The vehicle was later recovered in Bromford, Birmingham.

And, in the third incident, a red Audi A3 was stolen from a driveway in Rubery. That happened between 1.30am and 7.30am on Monday (July 28) after thieves gained access to the property on Windmill Avenue, before taking the keys and stealing the car. It was later recovered in Kings Heath.

A police spokesman said: “We believe these three incidents may be linked as they are very similar offences and also happened at addresses not too far apart.”

He urged any witnesses or anyone with any information on the incidents to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

He also said homeowners should be extra vigilant in ensuring all doors, windows and gated entrances were secure whether or not they were at home.
