THE ANNUAL Summer School being held by The Bromsgrove Society will take place between July 8 and 10.
This year, because it is the centenary of the First World War, the conflict will be highlighted during the three days of courses.
The first day will be about timber framed buildings and will include a visit to The Tudor House, which is the society’s logo. The life and poetry of Midland writer William Shenstone will also be featured.
On day two, the First World War will take centre stage and St John’s Street, Bromsgrove will be the other subject covered.
Votes for Women, the boycott of the 1911 census and the part Worcestershire played in the Gunpowder Plot will be the topics for the third day.
The courses will be held in the lecture theatre at The Cookes House at Bromsgrove School.
The courses are £40 per student per day, inclusive of morning coffee and a two-course lunch served in the Old School Chapel or £110 for three courses, also inclusive of morning coffee and a two-course lunch.
