A MAN had to be rescued after injuring his leg on the Clent Hills at 1.20pm on Monday (July 28).

The incident, involving the walker who was in his 40s, happened at the ‘four stones’ summit of the hills.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson confirmed an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were sent to the scene.

The man, who had reportedly fallen down a hole, could not put weight on his leg and, after being given pain relief, was treated for a suspected fractured ankle.

“Due to the location of the incident the Hazardous Area Response Team deployed their 6×6 all-terrain vehicle to safely bring the man down to the awaiting ambulance, which was located in the car park at the bottom of the hill,” added the spokesperson.

The man was then taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
