UKIP says future of Bromsgrove High Street is a major concern

BROMSGROVE’S UKIP Parliamentary candidate Stuart Cross has been out and about on the High Street, talking to shopkeepers and business owners.

And Mr Cross said those he spoke to all raised the same issues, which included business rates and the cost of town centre parking.

They also voiced concerns about the amount of money spent on repaving the pedestrianised High Street, the cost of renting shops, the inability to park outside stores because of double yellow lines and the number of empty shops.

Mr Cross added: “They have all spoken about the same concerns and are worried about the future of the High Street.

“These are the same issues they have had for years and nothing is being done.

“Why are we not listening to the people whose livelihoods depend on Bromsgrove High Street thriving?”

Mr Cross will be attending a hustings in Alvechurch on April 17 and be holding two public meetings – one at 7.30pm on April 21 at the Village Inn in Beoley and one – at 7.30pm on April 27 – at Hagley Village Hall.

Anyone wanting to get in touch with Mr Cross to talk to him about local issues can call 07952 937990.
