TWO WOMEN were arrested after a dramatic chainsaw raid in Bromsgrove yesterday (Thursday).

It happened at 3.45pm in Goodwood Road, Catshill, after a warrant was obtained to search the property for drugs.

After using the chainsaw to gain quick entry to the house, officers from Task Force, supported by Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team found a quantity of class A drugs.

The pair – who were 39 and 52 – were both arrested on suspicion of being in possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

They are currently in police custody.

Sgt Richard Field, from West Mercia Police, said: “Drug dealing is a high priority for us, and as part of that, we welcome all information provided by the public.

“A key component is the reduction of supply and demand achieved through the identification and dismantling of trafficking and dealer networks, and the warrant executed in Goodwood Road is an example of this.

“This is one of many warrants conducted in the recent months.”

Sgt Field vowed to continue to carry out raids in order to disrupt the activity of drug dealers.

“We want to encourage people to pass on any suspicions or concerns they have to us.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
