TWO ILLEGAL travellers’ encampments will be moved on today (Wednesday).

A Section 61 removal notice – under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, 1994 – has been issued by the police to those who have set up camp in Frankley and Bromsgrove.

The Standard reported on Monday how the travellers in Frankley arrived on Sunday afternoon, disrupting a race meet being held by Frankley Model Car Club.

And, since then, a group of travellers have set up camp on Buntsford Hill in Bromsgrove.

Bailiffs are on site at that encampment and they will be removed today.

A Bromsgrove Police spokesperson said: “We want the public to know that we are aware of the situations and we are dealing with them.”

He added that after they had been moved on, the force would be working with Bromsgrove District Council to secure the sites in a bid to ensure that similar situations did not arise in the future.
