The search is on to find Bromsgrove’s top ten most-loved hymns

A BROMSGROVE church has launched a search in a bid to discover the town’s favourite hymn.

St John’s want residents to let them know which of the traditional church songs they like best so a top ten can be compiled and performed at a special concert in February next year.

The event, which will be held at the historic church, will help raise funds for its upkeep.

Jo Hackett, a member of the church’s fund-raising committee, told The Standard: “There are so many great hymns out there that we sing during services throughout the year.

“Whenever you speak to anyone they always seem to have their own personal favourite.

“It would be great to find out which hymns are the most-loved among Bromsgrove residents.”

Those wanting to have their say can fill out the coupon on this page and hand it in to the voting boxes on the town’s Christmas Market stalls this weekend.

From Monday, the boxes will be in Bromsgrove’s Asda, by the community board.

Residents can also have their say online by e-mailing fundraising@stjohns.bromsgroveparish.org.uk or by visiting: stjohns.bromsgrove.church and filling out the form in the ‘contact us’ section.
