RESIDENTS in Bromsgrove who used to play tennis but have not picked up their raquets for a while and those wanting to learn how to play can go along to new courses being launched at Bromsgrove Tennis Club.

The ‘Rusty Racquets and Beginners’ sessions start from 10am to 11am a week on Wednesday (April 20).

James Griffiths, head coach at Bromsgrove Tennis Club, said: “Tennis a sociable game that you can enjoy, whatever your level, and it’s a great way of keeping fit.

“We’re delighted to offer this chance for people to get back into the game after not playing for a while, or to give tennis a go if they have always fancied playing but never got round to it.

“If anyone is a bit nervous about joining formal training or club sessions, come along and join in.”

Everyone is welcome and the emphasis is on people getting some exercise, building confidence, having fun and meeting new people.

Bromsgrove Tennis Club was named Herefordshire & Worcestershire LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) Club of the Year in both 2013 and 2015 and the course will be run by a qualified club coach.

The course costs £25 for the five sessions and racquets are available if needed.

Participants should wear loose comfortable clothes and trainers, coffee and biscuits will be available afterwards.
