YOUNGSTERS AT Birmingham Children’s Hospital were treated to some festive fun when cast members from All and Sundry’s Dick Whittington performed a shortened version of their panto.
The group was invited back to the hospital to put on the special production for the sick children and their families.
Some of the patients were so ill that they could not leave their beds, so the show was taken to them to brighten their day.
Martina Ponsonby organised the event which also included a surprise visit from Santa. He gave out sweets and gifts to the children.
Among the cast was Max, Martina’s son, who has been a patient at the hospital all of his life and was familiar with what it was like to spend Christmas in hospital.
Martina said she wanted to thank the director of Bromsgrove Bus and Coach Company, Martin Tilley, who sponsored the minibus that transported the cast for the day.
