Students from Hagley show litter bugs the way

STUDENTS from two Hagley schools have taken a key role in combatting litter in their local park as part of a project supported and funded by Bromsgrove Community Safety Partnership.

The pupils – from Hagley Catholic High and Haybridge High – have been working on two poster designs that will be put on new bins in Hagley Park in a bid to stop people from littering.

Students from both schools presented their designs at assemblies to highlight the issue of littering.

Coun Steven Colella, Hagley West district councillor and Chairman of Hagley Parish Council, said the school had done some really positive work to tackle a problem which blighted the whole community.

“We’ve made an appeal to the users of the playing fields to pick up their litter and with the support of the schools, we hope that the message will soon be heard.

“Hagley is a lovely place to live and the actions of a few risk giving the playing fields a bad name.”
