Start the new year with a new course at Artrix

Bromsgrove Editorial 10th Jan, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

FROM ballet and belly dancing to stand up comedy – beat the January blues at Artrix by joining one of its many courses for adults and children as we bring on 2016.

Future stars of the stage aged six to nine will be in their element when taking a bow at the Out of the Box Juniors acting courses on Tuesday evenings.

There’s also the chance for ten to 18 year-olds to hone their skills on Saturdays at Out of the Box Seniors.

Young singers aged five-nine will enjoy the Little Songstars Showchoir while the Songstars Junior Showchoir caters for ages ten to 15.

For adults aged 16 and over, there’s a Songstars Adult Showchoir – a lively and friendly choir which welcomes new members.

The Adult Ballet Beginners Class is an excellent introduction to ballet for those who have never tried it before and the intermediate class includes some pointe work, floor exercises and barre work.

The Belly Dancing class is for all levels and although it is low impact, it helps build core strength and increases flexibility.

On Tuesday (January 26), a new term begins at Theo’s Comedy Skool.

Theo, who is a professional comedian and writer, offers would-be comedians the opportunity to fine-tune their comedy skills and develop a stage presence.

TC Peppercorn, Artrix’ engagement and learning co-ordinator said: “These courses and workshops offer a fantastic opportunity to anyone who fancies a new challenge to kick off 2016 in style.

“We hope that people will come along and try a taster session before booking.”
