A DRIVE for new recruits has been launched by St John Ambulance in Bromsgrove and Droitwich.

The organisation is looking for 70 volunteers to train as event first aiders and youth leaders.

It provides first aid services at hundreds of events in Hereford and Worcestershire every year – from school fetes and small community events to big attendance events.

The training is free and in return the volunteers will be required to commit 10 hours per month to attend events and put their skills to the test.

The charity also has a number of vacancies for volunteers at its youth groups to train the region’s next generation of life-savers.

St John Ambulance requires youth leaders to help runs its Cadet and Badger units.
