SPORT lovers in Bromsgrove have been given the chance to be trained by a top athlete coach and take part in a mini-triathlon.

Thanks to funding secured by The Dolphin Centre from Sport Aid Trust and Sport England, anyone between 15 and 25-years-old who loves swimming, running and cycling can now apply for one of the 12 prestigious places.

Residents have been invited to attend an open evening at The Dolphin Centre between 6pm and 7pm tomorrow (Wednesday) to find out more.

The lucky chosen few will be given the opportunity to take part in a six-week training course led by inspirational coach Carl Kendall, who is in the top five per cent of the best triathletes in the world, for his age.

The training sessions will take place at the centre between 6pm and 7pm every Wednesday from June 25 until the mini-triathlon on August 6.

Mike Sutcliffe, a duty manager at The Dolphin Centre, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all those who enjoy running, swimming and cycling and who are interested in taking part in a triathlon.

“I would encourage everyone to sign-up because we have such a fantastic and inspiring coach to offer support and lead the project.”

Participants will have to pay a one of fee of £15.
