THE RYLAND Centre were paid a special visit by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
MP Sajid Javid visited the popular leisure centre to find out more about how a grant from the Big Lottery Fund was being used there.
More than £6,500 was awarded for a project, being run by Agewell and the centre, to develop new physical activities and social sessions for people aged 50 and over.
The aim of the sessions were to provide opportunities for older people to socialise regularly and take part in new creative and physical hobbies and interests.
Mr Javid said: “I was very encouraged to hear about the great work Agewell and the Ryland Centre are carrying out in Bromsgrove.
“It’s good to see a local project benefiting from National Lottery funding and making such a difference in the lives of our friends and family.”
