ACTIVE youngsters across Bromsgrove could be set to benefit from the next round of Sportivate funding.

The Sport England scheme could see up to £375,000 invested in Herefordshire and Worcestershire over the next two years after the deadlines to apply for a portion of the pot were extended to 2017.

Bromsgrove District Council is now urging anyone who runs or would like to run sport and physical activities in the area, for young people between the ages of 11 and 25, to apply before September 28.

To apply, applicants will need to show how they would or do provide activities.

The funding will give them the opportunity to receive between six and eight weeks of sport coaching, with the potential to extend this to three months.

The money can also be used to help cover the cost of coaches, incentives, equipment, facilities costs and much more.

John Godwin, head of leisure services, said: “We have some excellent sports clubs, groups and providers across the district and this funding could be the helping hand they need to become even better.

“If you’ve got an idea for expanding a sport or physical activity, there could be funding  valuable to support you so get in touch with our team and see if you’re eligible.”
