BUSINESSES are being sought to sponsor and support the annual Sprirt of Bromsgrove Awards.
The accolades, organised by Bromsgrove District Council, are aimed at celebrate sporting, arts and community achievements of residents, groups, clubs or organisations that have had a positive impact across the district over the last two years.
The companies who sponsor an award will receive tickets for the prestigious ceremony at Artrix on April 19, which includes a drinks reception and the chance to present their award and have their photograph taken with the winners.
Company logos will also be featured on the official awards booklet, slideshow, marketing materials, council website and on the sponsored award.
Income from sponsorship will be put towards running the event and providing the awards for the winners.
The accolades are awarded in three categories – Sport, Arts and Community.
In the Sport category there is the Outstanding Community Project (already taken), Outstanding Sports Person, Outstanding Sports Club, Outstanding Sports Coach and Outstanding Sports Volunteer.
In Art there is Outstanding Arts Organisation (already taken), Outstanding Arts Individual, Outstanding Youth Arts Organisation, Outstanding Young Person in the Arts and the Mary White Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts (already taken).
The Community category includes Outstanding Community Organisation, Outstanding Community Individual, Outstanding Youth Community Organisation, Outstanding Young Person in the Community and Safer Bromsgrove Award (already taken).
Coun Rod Laight, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said sponsorship was easy and benefitted and recognised local people, whilst publicising businesses.
“It’s a win-win all round,” he added.
The deadline for sponsorships is midnight on February 26 and applications should be submitted via www.bromsgrove.gov.uk/spiritofbromsgroveawards using the online submission form. A paper version is also available.
