BROMSGROVE’S historic St John’s Church is urging residents to send in any photographs that depict a link between themselves and the church for this years Heritage Day display.

Whether the photograph was taken at a wedding, a baptism, or even just out of appreciation for the building itself, all pictures are welcome as the church is hoping to celebrate as much of its history as possible.

Those submitting items should include a note detailing the photograph’s connection to the church.

The church will also be offering the unique opportunity to access baptism and burial records by appointment.

The event will be taking place from 2pm to 5pm, and will also offer other historical activities before ending with a service of Thanksgiving for Bromsgrove and all those who have a link with St John’s church.

For more information about Heritage Day, which takes place on September 12, call Shan Moule on 01527 873517 or the church office on 01527 878801.

To send in photos, please e-mail an electronic copy to [email protected] or post them to St John’s Parish Office, 14 Kidderminster Road, Bromsgrove B61 7JW.

Alternatively, drop the photo in to the church office between 11am and 3pm Monday to Friday.

To make an appointment to access the church records, e-mail the address given above with all the details you know about the person whose records you wish to access and a rough time at which you will be able to visit.
