SPECIAL sessions to get girls into football will be held in Bromsgrove between 9.30m and 11.30am on Saturday (June 14) – about 12 hours before England kick off their World Cup campaign against Italy.

The Social Fun Day is being held at the Ryland Centre, New Road, by Meadow Park FC in association with the Worcestershire FA.

Meadow Park FC is a registered Girls Hub Club and aims to support the development of girls’ football.

Tomorrow’s sessions is open to all girls aged between six and eight, whether they have never played the game before or if they have played, but have no club.

Paul Hutchins, Meadow Park FC’s chairman and manager of the under 16s girls team, said: “The event will introduce girls to the fun and social side of football as well as some skills to help with self-esteem and fitness.

“We will also have some players from our club in attendance taking part in the football sessions and on hand to answer questions.”

Admission is £1 and anyone wanting more information can call Paul on 07712 077955.
