Second person dies on railway line in Worcestershire

A SECOND person has died on a railway line in Worcestershire after being hit by a train.

Emergency services were called to the tracks near to the Chawson Crossing in Droitwich just before 2.30pm today (Friday).

An advanced paramedic and a paramedic area support officer, in separate rapid response vehicles, attended the scene and confirmed a person had died a short distance away from the crossing.

A woman was also pronounced dead at a scene near to the tracks at Kay’s crossing in Worcester after she was also hit by a train.




British Transport Police were called shortly before 9.30am. Officers attended alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service. They are now working to identify the woman and inform her family.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for a coroner.
