ALMOST 100 cubs and scouts from across Bromsgrove and Droitwich took part in various projects in a bid to improve their towns and the lives of residents in them.
Bromsgrove scouts spent the day working hard to clean up Catshill with a big litterpick and gave the local wildlife a helping hand by building a number of bug hotels. One team also created a garden area outside St John’s Church Hall.
Droitwich scouts kept themselves busy too by fulfilling Gloverspiece Minifarm’s wish to have a pondside flowerbed.
Some of the youngsters from Bromsgrove also spent the afternoon entertaining elderly residents at Herriots Sheltered Housing, serving them afternoon tea and cakes, before kindly offering to do all the washing up as well.
Val Leddington, the Bromsgrove Scouts’ local training manager, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I think they learnt a lot from the projects they took part in.”
