YEAR EIGHT students from Waseley Hills High School have been writing their own Christmas songs.

The six class winners got to perform their creations for Jo and Sparky from Free Radio.

The school’s head of music Dan Verry said: “It was a great atmosphere with the whole of year eight supporting the finalists and Jo and Sparky providing excellent feedback for the students.

“The winners now have the opportunity to perform in the Christmas concert and will receive a big box of chocolates,” he added.
