THE OWNER of a mini-supermarket and convenience store in Rubery is introducing a new loyalty card to give something back to his customers.

Rushpal Gill, who owns The Windmill (Select and Save), Windmill Avenue, will be officially launching the venture between 2pm and 6pm today (Saturday).

Coun Caroline Spencer will be at the launch at the store, which has been in Rushpal’s family for more than 32 years after it was started by his mum and dad.

Rushpal said: “It started off as a family shop and progressed from there.

“With the smaller stores, there’s not really much of an opportunity to reward the customers like the bigger ones do.

“Some of our customers have been with us for those 32 years and this is a way of giving something back for their loyalty.”

With every purchase, the loyalty card will give users the chance to get cash back and shopping points worth up to £9 for every £90 spent.

And Rushpal has worked out some customers will be able to save £1,200 a year.

At tomorrow’s launch, there will be special offers, wine tasting and hot and cold food in store.
