CHILDREN from Rubery, Rednal and South Birmingham did their bit for Sport Relief last week.
Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School, based at Longbridge Methodist Church, participated in a different sport each day for a week, including football, netball, volleyball mini-golf and ball skills.
They also learned the Sport Relief song and dance and had a go at limbo and a total of £50 was raised.
Nursery and pre-school manager Jacqueline Walker said: “We place a high emphasis of physical well-being and encouraging the children to have fun participating in sports and physical play activities.”
Youngsters aged two and three from Play Days Playgroup, at St Stephen’s Church in Rednal, undertook an obstacle course which saw them climb, jump, balance and crawl.
They then, with the help of their parents/carers, took on some more tasking activities, including bouncing ten times on a trampette, catching a ball and using a toy fishing rod and grabbing tool, balancing on beams and standing on a wobble board.
All youngsters were presented with a Sport Relief certificate and sticker to mark their achievement and cash for the cause through a bring and buy cake sale.
