HRH the Countess of Wessex will today (Friday) attend a garden party at Hagley Hall to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Midlands Air Ambulance.
The Countess accepted the invitation to attend the AIR 25 event.
The Midlands Air Ambulance has undertaken 46,000 lifesaving missions since its inception 25 years ago.
At today’s event, the Countess will be greeted by the Lord Lieutenant for Worcestershire, Lt Col Patrick Holcroft, LVO OBE and will then be introduced to a number of invited guests who have made a significant difference to the charity over the last 25 years.
She will also meet former patients, volunteers, fund-raisers, aircrew, charity staff, trustees and corporate partners, including Pertemps who are kindly supporting the Garden Party.
Later on, the Countess will unveil a commemorative memento to honour 25 years of service by the charity, marking the very spot that the first air ambulance helicopter AIR 5 was launched from Hagley Hall in 1991.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity CEO Hanna Sebright said: “We are truly honoured that Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex has graciously accepted our invitation to attend the 25th Anniversary Air25 Garden Party at Hagley Hall.
“Her presence will be an important and great privilege to the former patients, staff, fundraisers, volunteers and aircrew that have enabled us to provide vital lifesaving emergency medical care to the people and counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands for the last 25 years.”
Whilst the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s Garden Party is an invite-only event, residents can still support the charity during the 25th anniversary celebrations.
