RESIDENTS will be rolling up for one of the world’s finest animal-free circuses which has arrived in Wythall.

The Continental Circus Berlin spent all of Tuesday setting up the big top in time for its first performance on Wednesday.

Stars of the show include Bulgaria’s Matrix Troupe, a Spanish hula hoop queen, Romanian high wire cyclists and stilt walkers, an aerial sensation from Bucharest, a death-defying duo from the Czech Republic, balancing mavericks from Hungary, back-flipping fire limboing African warriors from Tanzania and award-winning clowns Los Remaches from Spain.

Manager Stefan Bruno said the theatrical spectacular married a traditional circus performance with modern-day technology with its ‘laser men’ – who ‘created an intense atmosphere inside the big top.’

“What’s great about the circus is it’s a theatre show which is still incredible to see.

“When you have all this technology, a circus show where everything is live and real becomes more exciting because it’s not something you’re used to any more, so coming to see a show where you can see people do amazing things – it’s refreshing.”

The Continental Circus Berlin takes place at Beckett’s Farm, Alcester Road.

Tonight’s show kicks off from 5pm until 7.45pm, with further performances tomorrow (Saturday) from 3pm to 6pm and on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.
