FOLK-SINGER, stand-up comedian and star of radio and TV Mike Harding will be at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum on Sunday (June 22).

An Evening of Poetry with Mike Harding will be held in the venue’s Guesten Hall at 7.30pm.

Mike’s publications include Daddy Edgar’s Pools and Crystal Set Dreams (Peterloo Poets) Strange Lights Over Bexley Heath (Luarth Press) and his latest collection, just published, Connemara Cantos (also Luarth Press).

His 40-plus non-poetry publications range from fell walking to fly fishing, taking in such diverse subjects as a series of eight ‘Little Books’ on aspects of church architecture and, more recently, a biography of the VW Camper Van.

He has also presented the folk show on Radio 2 and had a top ten hit with Rochdale Cowboy.

The event has been organised as part of the Worcestershire Literary Festival which has a variety of events on across the county from tonight (Friday) to June 29.

It will be officially opened tonight by the county’s Poet Laureate Maggie Doyle, who is from Bromsgrove.
