A TEENAGE mother accused of allowing the death of her baby will have a retrial.

Jessica Wiggins, believed to be living in Redditch, will stand before the courts again after jurors failed to reach a verdict on a charge of causing or allowing the death of Isabella Vallance.

The 19-year-old was cleared of child cruelty but the baby’s father admitted killing the 12-week-old.

Tyler Vallance, who is currently remanded in custody, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the first day of his trial at Worcester Crown Court and will be sentenced on July 24.

Wiggins’ trial is set to take place some time after his sentencing.

The pair were arrested on December 9 last year after their daughter received injuries at a Redditch home.

She was admitted to the Alexandra Hospital on December 7 and was then transfered to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital on December 12 where she later died.
