BROMSGROVE residents are being urged to sign up and take part in a charity firewalk to raise funds for the town’s Life After Stroke Centre.
The event, which sees participants walk barefoot across burning coals, will take place on April 23 at the centre.
Registration will be from 5pm and the firewalk will start at 7pm.
Everyone taking part will be given a training session before walking across 20ft of wood embers, burning at temperatures of up to 1,300°F.
There will also be a hog roast and refreshments, including winter-warming mocktails and hot chocolate, along with activities and games for spectators to enjoy.
Georgina Lawrence, the Stroke Association’s regional fund-raiser, said: “The firewalk is an exhilarating experience and a great way to raise money for the Stroke Association.”
The firewalk costs £20 to register and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £75 in sponsorship.
