YOUNGSTERS who attend the Play Days and Plus 2 groups at St Stephen’s Church in Rednal all wore their Christmas jumpers to help raise cash for Save The Children.

The national Christmas Jumper Day to raise cash for the cause is due to take place today (Friday), urging people to ‘Make the world better with a sweater’.

But the groups from St Stephen’s held theirs a week early as they will be staging their Nativity today.

Families brought in cakes to sell and the youngsters were able to decorate some cut out jumpers to make them look Christmassy.

Play Days leader Julie Kite-Lightfoot said: “We feel it is important to help people less fortunate than ourselves and do this through fun activities.

“The children and parents and carers all loved showing off their Christmas jumpers to each other.”
