THE PRIMROSE Hospice’s Lights of Love campaign has seen £24,000 collected so far this year, putting it at just £7,000 off beating last year’s total.

The drive, which has been running since last month, enables residents to remember loved ones they have lost and have their names put in one of the remembrance books placed around the Lights of Love Christmas trees in Redditch, Bromsgrove and Rubery.

There are also trees outside Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors offices in Redditch, Alvechurch and Wythall.

A moving and poignant carol service was held at the Wythall office, with guests lighting a candle to place around the tree in memory of their loved one.

Simon Thomas said: “We are very proud to be supporting the Primrose’s Lights of Love. The blessing was a very moving ceremony and it’s great that residents across Redditch and Bromsgrove will be able to remember their loved ones through the campaign.”

Sandra Albright, the charity’s campaign fund-raiser, said: “We are extremely grateful to Thomas Brothers for supporting Lights of Love, which is one of our most important fundraising campaigns, involving so many people in the local community.”

Anyone wanting to help with the final push to smash last year’s total can donate by filling out the coupon on this page, by visiting the Primrose Hospice shops and Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors or by calling 01527 889796.
