Preparations for this year's Bromsgrove Carnival get underway

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Apr, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

PREPARATIONS are underway for this year’s Bromsgrove Carnival and the Timberhonger 10K run.

The carnival will be held between July 8 and 10 and the run, along with the Children’s Challenge, will be held on the Saturday evening (July 9).

Carnival organisers are planning plenty of exciting events over the weekend including the traditional carnival gala and the return of the outdoor cinema which proved so popular last year when Grease was screened in Sanders Park.

Bookings are now being taken for stalls at the carnival gala from clubs, charities or commercial organisations.

The carnival attracts thousands of people to Bromsgrove and Sanders Park every year.

To book stalls, visit www.eventbrite.co.uk and search for ‘Bromsgrove Carnival’.

Registration for the Timberhonger 10k and Children’s Challenge is also open and keen runners can sign up for the races at the www.timberhonger10k.co.uk website. The race is known for the great carnival atmosphere welcoming runners in the park.

There are medals and a bottle of Bird’s beer for all finishers (over 18).

Last year it sold out so race director Mark Graham advises people to enter early to guarantee their place.

There is currently a vacancy on the carnival team to help organise this year’s procession. The committee is looking for people with lots of energy and enthusiasm who are keen to get involved.
