POLICE have arrested a man in connection with the sexual assault of  a woman in a Rubery charity shop.

Officers investigating the incident are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

It happened between 3.30pm and 4pm on Thursday, February 4, when the man is believed to have approached the woman in her 50s and sexually assaulted her.

It is thought there would have been customers who entered the store while the attack took place and police officers investigating the attack want to hear from them as soon as possible.

Investigating officer PC Simeon Darrall Jones is particularly keen to speak to a man who came into the store following the incident.

PC Darrall Jones said: “The man who entered the store immediately after the incident could have vital information that could help the investigation.

“It is important to stress that he is not a suspect but he could significantly help with our enquiries. I would urge him to get in touch via 101 at the earliest opportunity.”

Any witnesses or anyone with any information should call 101, quoting incident number 476s of Thursday, February 4, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
