BROMSGROVE residents are being warned to be on their guard against rogue traders after an incident this week which saw an elderly woman conned out of £120.

It happened in Sidemoor on Thursday (August 4) when the man called at the  home offering ‘garden services’.

He asked for the £120 up front and when the woman paid him he left without undertaking the work.

Police are now urging people not to buy services on the door and if they are in any doubt about a caller’s credentials to contact officers on 101.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
